How did you get involved in footy?: Back in August of 2007, I drove across the country with one of my best friends, Jeff, to help him move into his Brooklyn apartment. He left me in his apartment to go to the store, and soon afterward there was a knock on the door. I opened it to find a 1st year law student from Arizona who had just moved in across the hall. She had only a suitcase and a lot of wine and was asking to borrow wine glasses and a corkscrew. Jeff returned to find me sitting on the floor of Drea’s empty apartment, the two of us laughing our way through a second bottle of wine. When I moved to NYC in 2012, Drea and Christina handed me a footy schedule and told me I had no choice but to play. I was concerned I would get my face bashed in, but they said the sport was insanely fun, the players were awesome, and there were a lot of social gatherings – some involving costumes. They had me at hello.
What do you like most about footy?: Getting to the ball first because I love winning at life, the post match celebration with the “Victory Nectar of the Gods”, which when consumed directly from the vessel, bonds us together as Sisters of the Footy.
Position: Ruck – I am the eye of the storm.
Aspirations: Winning Nationals with the Lady Pies, making it through the season without a major injury requiring surgery

Favourite Movie: Moulin Rouge & A League of Their Own. I strongly believe that the greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return, and that there’s no crying in baseball. I exemplify a dangerous combination of Dottie and Satine.
Most Favourite Thing: Spooning
Random Piece of Info: I went to the California State Competition every year for over a decade as a classically trained ballerina and tap dancer. My dancer mom and athlete dad would fight about what I should do, and eventually 3 sports plus 2 styles of dance was too time consuming, so they both tried bribing me with a ton of presents to pick their path. My dad’s bribe included 49ers games with him and hundreds of pounds of Sour Patch Kids, so I hung up my toe shoes for my cleats. My mom cried, while my dad cheered and did this awkward, uncoordinated jig that mimicked the Walk Like an Egyptian video. Ever since then I have played sports competitively up to the national level throughout high school, college, and life. Now I use those ballerina legs to kick the footy with elegance and grace, and I use my footy moves at ABC Lounge where you can find me aggressively getting low and backing up into people on the dance floor.
