Avoca Bulldogs FC host 2nd New York Magpie Tommy Thompson – August 6, 2005

For the second time in the history of the Avoca FNC a New York Magpie laced up the boots and doned the Red, White and Blue for the Bulldogs. In 2003, Doug Lewis traveled to Avoca to play for the Dogs against Navarre. This time it was Tom Thompson's turn. After traveling to Avoca for a Thursday night training session with the club, Tom joined the reserves team for their Saturday afternoon clash against the Donolly Eagles. To add to the experience, Tom was fortunate to take part in great football accomplishment. Against Dunolly, the club's Full Forward, Mick Arrowsmith, played his 200th club game. Whether it was to ensure the big man celebrated his 200th with a win or to show their guest a great effort, the Dogs fought hard all day and won the contest.

Final scores: Avoca 12.8 80 def. Dunolly 9.11 65
