1.      NEW YORK METROLEAGUE FINALS IN HOBOKEN - SATURDAY

After a hugely successful round of games in Hoboken a few weeks ago, the Magpies are heading back to Hoboken for more fun.  A big THANK YOU to the 60 plus people who came out the first time and sat in the grandstand.  Feel free to do the same this weekend, we promise to have a bunch of giveaways, especially for those making their second trip to watch the games.  First bounce at 1 PM and the Grand Final at 2 PM.

 

Details of the games are on the flyer and more importantly so is the location of the post game venue with breathtaking views of Manhattan.

The quest to avoid the Wooden Spoon will see Jersey’s own Hudson River Rats against the photo snapping Times Square Tourists, while the game for the shiny hardware pits the Nature Loving Village Bohemians against the Suburban Tollmen “AKA the Outerboro Trash.”

 

If you prefer to play instead of watch just contact it’s all free and we will find a spot for everyone!!!!

 

 

2.      AMERICAN AUSTRALIAN SUMMER SIZZLE BBQ - SUNDAY

3.      LONG ISLAND BRACES FOR A FOOTY INVASION

First we introduced Hoboken to the Australian game and now on August 12th, Garden City, Strong Island will get its first ever games of footy as well as a free skills clinic open to all.

 

The New York Magpies will play against a traveling squad from Chicago with an additional Metro League style game, and anyone who wants to participate can get an introduction into the sport and have a kick for themselves at the free skills clinic.  After all of this head over to the Uptown Grille right in town for some food and fun.

Free non-alcoholic refreshments will be provided by the Magpies at the grounds.

 

4.      MAGPIES ANNUAL JUMPER SALE

Thanks to those who have already placed their orders, we are already up to 14!!!

 

Back by popular demand………….you may have seen them in Bermuda last week, New York, London, or as far as Brazil, Greece, or Perth, Western Australia, these hot items have been sold worldwide.

 

Here is your fourth chance to order your very own New York Magpie jumper.

 

Orders are subject to a minimum order quantity of 20, which we hope to reach by the end of August.  If you chose to wait until the next order you will need to wait for a build up of orders to receive your jumper, normally one order per year.

 

We are setting a cutoff date of September 1st, 2006.  Please note that it will take several weeks to get them produced and shipped to us.  If you want any to go directly from the manufacturer to someone in Australia we can do that to reduce the wait time.  Jumpers must also be paid for before September 1st since these are custom made items.

 

These make great gifts for footy fans, especially Magpies supporters.

 

FYI-Ben Graham of the NY Jets already has one on order just for him.
