1.      ANZAC DAY PARTY WRAP UP!!!!!

Yeah, it was almost 3 months ago, but it took me that long to recover.

Check out the photos at http://nyfooty.com/social/2005/anzac.shtml or the podcast (downloadable audio file) with video extra.  The events attendees included actress Minnie Driver, radio personality Brad Blanks, and 3rd season “The Apprentice” candidate Danny.  Who will show up to the next big event, the 2005 AFL Grand Final Party on September 23rd, just wait and see……………

Also featured were live performances by The Strines, The Burnt Snags, Second Dan, The Kin, Max Sharam & Aussie DJs spinning the classic and current Aussie faves.

A portion of the proceeds were donated to an RSL Fund and The Australian Consulate’s Fund for a sick child.

Huge thanks to all of the sponsors of the event:

Coopers Brewery, Crumpler Bags, Eight Mile Creek, Jacobs Creek, NYC2012 (better luck with 2016), Outback Steakhouse, RM Williams, Sunburnt Cow, & The Tribeca Film Festival.

5.      CRAZY/INTERESTING AUSSIE STORIES IN THE NEWS

Magpies sell a footy to Jet – the Band (from Melbourne):

The NY Magpie President received a phone call from the concierge of a major upscale hotel looking to purchase an Australian Football.  Oddly enough the hotel could not buy one in Manhattan.  After some cleverly worded questions the Prez confirmed that the footy was for the rock band Jet who had recently performed at Madison Square Garden with Oasis.  Long story short, look for Jet wearing a NY Magpies T-shirt in their next video and you may have seen the band in Central Park kicking around the previously mentioned footy, no joke!!!!!
