Jun 03 ![]() Ex-Magpies help Hong Kong Dragons take home Manila Cup Former New Yorkers but Magpies for life Dylan Bryant and Jarrad Crighton helped the Hong Kong Dragons take home the Manila Cup for the 2nd year running last weekend. The HK Dragons took down China, Philippines and Malaysia on their way to the title, beating Malaysia 9-11-65 to 1-2-8 in the final in very wet conditions. This gruelling comp saw each 12-man team play 4 games last Saturday, followed by the grand final at the end of the same day. Great job, Dyl and Crights (pictured here enjoying an apres-match beverage). Congratulations to the Vics – featuring special guests AFL football operations manager Adrian Anderson and the League’s lawyer Andrew Dillon – on a great victory in the men’s game. The Allies took the honours in the women’s match. Special thanks to Matt Astill at the Australian for his efforts and support in arranging the venue. Meanwhile in Brooklyn, it was back to Aviator for the first time in 2009 for the preseason NYCAFL games. Great stuff all round!
